Eco Friendly Car Exhibit on the Circle - Interviews

See the videos below of a few interviews we conducted with the different individuals who were kind enough to stop by our school today and share their cars with us. It really was a great event and an excellent opportunity for our community members to see many different types of car transportation technologies on display.

Movietime Earth Week Videos

Hey Everyone,

The Movietime class is working on a Persuasive Video project this week. The goal is to make short movies about the environment that give you, Castilleja people, the opportunity to interact and respond to them. Look for them this week on this blog, on the Earth Week Facebook page, or wherever else these creative folks find to post their work. Your participation makes it much more fun - so please take a minute to respond to the work.

Thanks, and Happy Earth Week,

Ms. Otto

Plant Rooting Update!

One of the many projects that we're doing at our school during Earth Week 2010 is rooting common house plants and passing them out to teachers, staff and other adults who want a plant for their classroom/office.

Here are a few photos from break today when we met to plant the rootings in little pots. A special thanks to Julia for leading the way on this project!

Green Home Brown Bag Lunch at Castilleja

We were joined yesterday for a 'brown bag lunch' by energy engineer, Luke Morton, and architect, Erica Weeks, to discuss green building and design. It was a great conversation and we appreciate Luke and Erica spending some time with us.

I really learned to think differently about "green" products. A really good question to ask when thinking about a green home or green products is, "How green is it?"

Kudos to Alice Winham for setting up this brown bag lunch and for making arrangments for the school community to visit the green home down the street from Castilleja on Tuesday, April 20th.

The video embedded on this page is from the first 10 minutes of our time with Luke and Erica.
